I’ll start by saying that I do 90% of my own maintenance, but I felt like I was in a little over my head doing the timing belt/water pump service on my 2014 VW Passat TDI. The dealership wanted $3500 to do it, so I called around to all of the independent shops that I could find or were recommended. Vintage Auto was WAY cheaper than the dealership and when I called to get a quote for the service, I was given a price immediately, no searching for parts and labor prices.
